You don’t even dare try to hibernate messaging apps and phone app unless you want to replace them with a new one. What apps need to run in the background for android phone is the android system and the google play services. If you stop or hibernate them, many apps in your phone will fail to open as they need the android system and the google play services to open or function.

Thanks to the folks over at XDA-Developers, a new expansion of this feature has been discovered on a leaked build of Android 12. On Android 11, a feature was introduced called ‘auto revoke permissions’ that can automatically revert app permissions granted to an app if the app has not been used for an extended period.
